After a comprehensive inspection of the racing surface
combined with the continued low temperatures and the advancing winter storm,
Remington Park Officials have decided it’s in the best interest of horse and
rider safety to cancel races for this evenings card. Remington Park, TRAO and
the Jockeys in collaboration with Oklahoma State Stewards will revisit the
conditions first thing Friday morning before making a decision on the rest of
this weekend’s races. We intend to make an alternative date request with the
OHRC to run any canceled races immediately concluding the end of the racing
season on Monday and or Tuesday December 16, and 17.
On race cancellations ; all horses carded in races that are
cancelled will receive a “super date” which means they will enter back into the
race once re-scheduled and will guarantee they will draw a post position into
the race. Races cancelled will be brought back as extras on the days selected
to make up those cancelled race dates/races.
