What about putting together a group of friends & buy your own professional sports franchise on Saturday, June 5 at Remington Park? This is my Story!

In 2009, a friend and I got together and each of us bought 5% of a two year old Thoroughbred filly. We each spent $675 and signed an agreement with the other owners that owned anywhere from 10 to 40% of the filly. We acquired the services of Thoroughbred Trainer Joe Offolter and we were off to the races. We don't own a whole bunch of her but we feel like we do. We go to the barn and get to feed her peppermints and every time she runs we go to the paddock and feel like kings.

Our filly has started 6 times now in Oklahoma and although she's still a maiden (hasn't won a race yet) she has managed to run second twice and forth one time and she's earned over $10,000. Our training bills never go over $70 or $80 bucks a month and although we haven't broken even yet she's progressing nicely and we look forward to running her in the one million dollar Oklahoma Classics Stakes for Oklahoma breds this fall.

Right now our filly is in Texas where we hope to win a race or two with her this summer so she'll be ready to go here at Remington this fall.

I strongly encourage anyone wanting to get in at a level the way we did to come to the Remington Sale and meet some trainers and other owners that are in the business. like anything else, don't get in over your head and share the expense with some friends. There's really no other feeling like it!
