30 years ago, OKC’s most beloved investigative journalist
Brad Edwards conceived of the idea to spend the coldest time of the year keeping
others warm. Being a man who spent a his entire professional career fighting
for the less fortunate, the elderly, and the working class, it seemed only
natural for him.
And now although the man is gone, his idea lives on
throughout OKC, kept alive by his daughter Ashton, the members of News Channel
4, the Salvation Army, and most recently, Paycom and Remington Park.
From 3:30 to 7:30pm today, Remington Park is proud to host the
kickoff of the Warmth 4 Winter coat drive with an afternoon full of holiday
cheer. While you’re here, bring the family along and enjoy the afternoon of
Holidazzle festivities at Remington Park, including train rides, hot cocoa,
pictures with Santa, and much more from our friends at Paycom!
Most importantly, we encourage all our fans to bring new or
gently used coats of all sizes to Remington Park today to donate to the
Salvation Army, who will work to get them in the hands of those who need them
most.
If you know anyone in need of a winter coat, contact that
Salvation Army at (405) 246-1100.
If your coat box is full, call (405) 443-7214 to schedule a
pick up.
Remington Park is
Oklahoma's #1 sporting entertainment destination. Unlike any other Casino in
the area, we offer a unique blend of continually-updated casino games, live
music, fine dining and both live and simulcast horse racing.
