Remington Park Recognizes First Responders in Moore

Not much can be said about the staggering aftermath of the recent disaster in Moore, and oftentimes it seems that even less can be done. But in the days following the May 20th tornadoes, this great state of Oklahoma has shown us on how  the worst of nature can truly bring out the best of humanity.

In the spirit of what the 9/11 responders called “The Oklahoma Standard,” Remington Park is proud to honor, recognize, and support the incredible efforts of the men and women on the front line, working thanklessly to provide relief and save lives. Even though the demands for a return to normalcy are enormous, it’s oftentimes the smallest amenities that can go the longest way to shed light on the darkest of times.

That’s why everyone here at Remington Park, just like the rest of our incredible state of Oklahoma, are doing anything and everything possible to provide support to the first responders in Moore. In addition to guest donations, Remington Park was able to provide clothing, water, sandwiches, and toddler amenities to those in need. We would also like to thank our partners at Old Chicago to allow us to provide over 100 steaming hot pizzas directly to the front line, providing the cold and hungry responders with a few minutes of much-needed relief from their duties.

Everybody knows that Oklahomans stick together. It’s just what we do. Whether it’s our NBA victories or the heartbreaking loss of lives and homes, we are a team. We work together. And on behalf of Remington Park, we would all like to issue a sincere THANK YOU for allowing us to be a part of the efforts to ease the pain in Moore.

HELP US HELP THOSE IN NEED:

We are currently taking donations just inside the Racing entrance. We will be doing so as long as there is a need. Recommendations include nonperishable foods, diapers, bottled water, clothing, or simply bring cash.

The easiest way to help the Red Cross support the people of Moore is to donate money online atRedCross.org or by texting “REDCROSS” to 90999 (the text will automatically donate $10).

The Oklahoma Blood Institute will also be conducting a blood drive at Remington Park this Friday, May 24th, from 12pm – 4pm in the Casino Entrance.

For any questions, please contact us at contact@remingtonpark.com or 405-424-1000.
